Education

Western NC Public Education

Western North Carolina has an exemplary school system that is a beating heart of our community. Our high school offers plenty of ways for young people to get involved in the community. This includes boy's and girl's athletics from football to golf, student support and counseling, a host of student organizations and clubs, drivers education, and a program for advanced students.

Appalachian State University

If you or a family member is interested in higher education, we boast one of the finest universities in the United States: Appalachian State in Boone, North Carolina. You may remember ASU as the small town football team that beat the University of Michigan a few years ago, but we offer so much more than an awesome football team. ASU includes a college of Business, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, Music, Education, and Arts and Sciences. Appalachian State averages fewer than 25 students per classroom, which means it is a community involved, hands on education experience.
