Western North Carolina hosts all the adventure of the mountains. We're home to four ski resorts, natural caverns, horseback riding, and a multitude of white water rafting venues. Here are some of our suggestions.
Ski Resorts
Sugar Mountain Ski Resort offers skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ice skating, tubing, and the two longest chairlifts in North Carolina.
Located in the town of Beech Mountain, Beech Mountain Ski Resort is the highest ski resort in the Eastern United States.
Hawksnest Resort is a resort that caters to large groups and young children. It features snow tubing and long ziplines.
Appalachian Ski Mountain is Blowing Rock's own ski resort, also a great skiing and ice skating locale.
Linville Caverns
Located inside Humpback Mountain, Linville Caverns are the only natural caverns in North Carolina.
