Russell “Woody” Flowers
Journeyman
Russell “Woody” Flowers grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago. He moved to North Carolina in 2014, and to Boone in 2018 to help plant a local church as a worship leader. He received his degree in Finance & Banking at Appalachian State in 2019 and worked as a personal banker. During that time, a mentor taught him basic carpentry skills and he began making custom furniture to sell on the side.
After his time as a banker, he returned to Appalachian State as a graduate student in 2021 to pursue his MBA with a concentration in Business Analytics. While studying, he became a logistics intern for a financial advising firm in Blowing Rock, where he helped streamline many of the businesses’ processes before graduating.
In the years prior to joining the team, he was able to purchase and renovate a single family property into a multi-family. This further fueled his passion for working with his hands and gave him a hunger for learning how to build homes. He joined the 4 Forty Four team in 2024 and has been eager to contribute his current skills while continuing to pursue what is truly dear to him, being a craftsman. When not at work he loves reading, writing songs, hiking, furniture making, gunsmithing, and listening to his vinyl records.
