Ridge View Home
The High Country holds a special place in the hearts of these fun clients. After having met each other at Appalachian State University (Go Mountaineers!) almost 40 years ago, they wed shortly after and had always dreamed of owning a home in a place that already holds so many memories.
When they approached us about building their dream home, we knew we had to craft this home to fit their history and love of the High Country. They purchased a small house in Boone that just happened to have an amazing view, and demolition began.
A major part of the process after demolition was strategically designing the new house to harmoniously nest within the existing mountain landscape. And of course, optimizing those breathtaking, long-range views from as many rooms as possible was the ultimate goal - and building enough bedrooms to be able to share those views while hosting family and friends was equally important.
When entering the Ridge View Home, you can’t help but notice the set of stately black iron doors with built-in screens. Sitting opposite those doors and flanked by a floor-to-ceiling, stacked-stone fireplace in the large, open living area is an accordion door leading to the upper deck, showcasing those spectacular ridge views. Both allow for open air living, while being able to appreciate the beauty that four-season living can bring.
Directly opposite of the fireplace is a gourmet kitchen, which was another high priority for our clients. The open concept on the main floor will allow for entertaining and celebrating for many years to come, as our clients plan to pass this gorgeous home down to their children, who are also Appalachian State graduates.
We couldn’t be more thrilled with how the Ridge View Home turned out. We wish our clients many years of happiness in their dream home.
