We are custom home builders and no two homes are exactly the same. In order to bring clarity to the complexity of custom home building, we have developed guiding principles that aide in our process. These principals rely heavily on the 4 Pillars of Construction and have become an important part of our business model. We realize we are not only building homes, but also helping you to discover and manifest your dream, and that is no small task!
We manage your investment meticulously, down to the last penny. Our office tracks and accounts for each project down to each individual line item in the budget on a weekly basis. Because we manage our books with this level of detail, we create and provide each client weekly budget reports. We do this to maintain order, clarity and peace of mind for both our clients and our team of professionals.
Just as managing your investment responsibly and effectively builds a trusting long term relationship between 4 Forty Four and you; treating our subcontractors and vendors well builds a trusting and long term relationship between them and 4 Forty Four. We make it our mission to pay our subcontractors and vendors in a timely manner, much quicker than the industry standard. When we take care of our team, they take care of you!
Taking the guess work out of the financial aspect of home building leaves more room for discovering your dream, creativity and fun.
Integrating the 4 Pillars of Construction
4 Forty Four has developed a process that is unique to the industry where the 4 Pillars of Construction collaborate in an effective manner. We call this Discovery, where – Architecture, Interior Design, Estimating, and Project Management are holistically integrated. When these 4 Pillars are not integrated there are inherent assumptions that can lead to any number of issues and miscommunication. When Discovery coordinates these 4 Pillars, expectations are defined, clarity emerges and peace of mind rules the day.
Architecture is the fun process where you design and define both the structural and functional aspects of your spaces. We play an active role in design. Whether it be introducing our clients to a local architect or helping them edit or define plans they already have in their possession.
Interior Design is the conceptual and creative aspect of the project where you define where you will live and put the skin on the frame of your design. This is when your identity and emotion are expressed and your vision comes to life. We help guide our clients through this process and have worked with many wonderful interior designers over the years.
To define expectations and then deliver on those expectations, we turn to Estimating. We do all of our estimating internally. We use quantity based estimates where all items are counted and measured in order to accurately quantify the project in its entirety.
Finally, Project Management puts everyone into action (architect, interior designer and you, the client); bringing the whole project together. We have our own project managers that we assign to each job. They have the important task of handling the practical application of the 4 Pillars and managing all of the details.
There is no downside to integrating these 4 components! If asked to define where the human mind and emotions end and the physical body begins, it would be very hard to give a definitive answer. The 4 Pillars of Construction are much the same. To be truly successful, you have to overlap each area of the process. These components may be different, yet they rely so heavily on each other that they cannot be isolated and still produce the desired outcome.
